About Dev2Dev

What are we?

Dev2Dev is a free community-based online portal centered around learning and discussing a diverse set of topics anchored around BEA products. These topics include Java EE technologies, architecture, system administration, telecom and RFID.

Who is our audience?

Our primary audience consists of developers and architects, system administrators and IT management.

What are our goals?

Our primary goal at Dev2Dev is to promote community, learning and conversations. We do this through our articles , our blogging community and its blogs, our coding community and its open source CodeShare projects, together with our newsgroups, user groups, RSS feeds, product documentation, webinars, newsletters, event calendar and wikis.

To help drive conversation, Dev2Dev publishes several articles every month, and our dynamic blogging community contributes its own, less formal, content.

We want to help you become more efficient at what you do.

Who are we?

Dev2Dev is managed as a partnership between BEA and O'Reilly Media, with CollabNet providing the hosting infrastucture and CodeShare functionality. The editor-in-chief of Dev2Dev is Jon Mountjoy (O'Reilly).

How can you participate?

There are a number of ways in which you can participate in Dev2Dev:

Finally, you can become a registered member of Dev2Dev itself. Registered users can comment on our articles and blogs, use our wikis and enjoy various discount programs.

How is Dev2Dev structured?

We structure the content on Dev2Dev as follows:

  • Most of our article and blog content is filed into one or more product or technology centers. For example, the WebLogic Server product center contains a subset of our articles and blogs relevant to WebLogic Server. It also contains RSS feeds that allow you to subscribe to just this information, as well as resources, downloads, code and tools, and product documentation for WebLogic Server. See our site map for an overview.
  • CodeShare is organized into collaborative open source projects and code samples. Each of these is further categorized in a structure mirroring that of Dev2Dev's product and technology centers.
  • The newsgroups are categorized by products, standards and technologies.
