This will be my fourth EclipseCon and third time that I will be there as a speaker. Time sure does fly fast. It wasn't so long ago that I was new to Eclipse trying to understand the "yet another Java widget API" known as SWT. Despite being to EclipseCon so many times already, I continue looking forward to going there every year. Eclipse is growing so fast that there are always new things to learn about. Not to mention that as an Eclipse committer, EclipseCon is my once in a year opportunity to see in person other committers that I work with throughout the year. Instant messaging is no substitute for a design discussion over a pint at the hotel bar. :)

EclipseCon can also be an interesting opportunity for current or future BEA customers. The BEA booth is supposed to be excellent this year, with many product demos going on at various times. Plus you never know who you will run into. You know that feature that you really love (or hate)? You can run into the person who brought it to you. How cool is that?

There are tons of interesting sessions and events happening at EclipseCon 2008. Early registration deadline is Feb 14th. Register now. I hope to run into more BEA customers at this year's event.
