BEAWorld San Francisco will be held on September 10-12 at the Moscone Center, followed by events in Barcelona and Shanghai.
This year two Developer tracks have been added, in addition to the usual Architect and CIO tracks.
I am excited to be a speaker for two of the Developer sessions in San Francisco - I hope to see you there.
Develop@BEAWorld
The crew that runs Dev2Dev has put together a great companion seminar to the annual BEAWorld conference called
Develop@BEAWorld.
This is in-depth technical training for Developers, with on-stage coding and live demos.
Develop@BEAWorld will give you a choice of two tracks,
Enterprise Web 2.0 and
Core Application Development.
You will learn from subject matter experts - senior engineers from BEA's product groups.
We will cover topics such as Event Driven SOA, Open JPA and Spring, and Mashups.
I am excited to have been asked to present during two sessions, both related to my work on WebLogic Portal.
As an attendee, you are free to float between Develop@BEAWorld and the main BEAWorld sessions.
So you can mix and match between detailed developer training and higher level product presentations.
If you haven't already, it's time to register for this great learning opportunity.
WebLogicPortal@BEAWorld
In addition to several WLP break-out sessions, round tables and customer presentations, the WebLogic Portal product group will host a 4 hour product deep dive on Monday, September 10th, from 1-5 PM.
Josh Lannin, our Group Product Manager will cover the product roadmap and discuss:
- WLP's approach to the enterprise portal space
- The impact of the two WLP releases this year (WLP 10, WLP 10.2)
- How WLP is delivering value to your business
Of particular interest to Developers, we will also get into detail on how WLP delivers on Web 2.0:
With the rise of Web 2.0 technologies such as AJAX, REST, tagging, Mashups, RSS, and more,
where does this leave users of WebLogic Portal?
We will discuss and demonstrate the Web 2.0 features available in WebLogic Portal, followed by a preview
of the future of the product.
You will leave this presentation with an understanding of how you can use these technologies with your WebLogic Portal
applications, and an appreciation for how BEA is bringing Web 2.0 to the enterprise.
Don't miss this opportunity to see the future and provide us with your feedback.

Don't worry folks, I didn't mean "Get Engaged" in the nuptial sense. Unless that's what you are looking for, then go for it! Work those roundtables.
