Even with Web Services security initiatives that are emerging there are great challenges to implementing secure Web Services solutions. The tools and technologies for addressing Web Services security do exist and Web Services can be developed securely however not necessarily in the way that you might expect.

The webinar will discuss a model for thinking about and organizing Web Services security alternatives and provide a framework for dizzying array of Web Services security alternatives so that you can make the most appropriate decision for your situation. Thinking about Web Services security through this model will help you understand the context for a your specific Web Services security strategy and give you a "place to hang" these myriad alternatives that are emerging or already exist to secure Web Services.

This webinar is for technical managers, developers, and administrators who have a familiarity with Web Services and basic security principles.

Presenter:

Dave Remy is a Director in Product Design for BEA Systems for Weblogic Workshop. He is a co-author of the forthcoming book Understanding Web Services Security (Addison Wesley) and was previously a co-founder and Chief Architect at GeoTrust, Inc. the second largest SSL certificate issuer in the world. Dave has many years experience in software development including CTO at Netstock, Director of Technology at Corbis, Director of Architecture at PEMCO, Advisory Systems Engineer at IBM, and many years prior as a developer. Dave has a Computer Information Systems Security (CISSP) and Java Certified Programmer (JCP) certification.
