Description:

The WebLogic Platform is application infrastructure that's been tailored for the consumption of business intelligence (BI) services into enterprise Java applications, and the surfacing of BI content through enterprise portals. Learn why the SOA-ready Business Objects BI platform is a prime candidate for such integration, with an extensive Web services Java SDK and the ability to leverage SOA-enabling technologies such as XML, SOAP, WSDL and UDDI. Crystal Reports, Web Intelligence and other reporting engines running remotely and across firewalls can be accessed and controlled from WebLogic applications using the Business Objects' Web services SDK. Reports that run directly against XML and Web service data sources provide a flexible and convenient means for users to consume report data from disparate programming environments encountered within an SOA.

Service infrastructure's broad reach, across programming environments, business units, geographies and sometimes even entire organizations, introduces new challenges apt for BI to tackle. Enterprise service buses (such as AquaLogic Service Bus) are the backbone of service infrastructure and the place where BI technology can tap the volumes of information produced by BI services, telling users about how the system, and thus the organization, is performing. Learn how to deploy and register Business Objects BI services onto AquaLogic Service Bus, and how doing so can widen the both the reach and field of view of your organization's BI infrastructure.
