Webinar: Quest Performance Management for WebLogic PortalDate: This event took place on April 26 2006 Presentation: > Download Presentation> View Recording Description: BEA WebLogic Portal simplifies information access, improves IT productivity, and provides a low-cost path for customization of the presentation layer. As a result, enterprises are able to deliver new customized business services rapidly, at a lower cost and with far more agility than with any prior technology. WebLogic Portal supplies a robust set of core functionality in a single, integrated solution. Although good for the portal developer, this can make managing a portals performance and availability very difficult by depending on all the diverse IT infrastructure and resources that support each of a portals constituent components. To add to the complexity, each portal implementation has its own performance dependencies, since each portal uniquely integrates with a different combination of back-end systems. The challenge of portal management is further complicated by the fact that portal components are also being constantly modified in response to changing business needs. In this webcast, we will discuss the key elements of WebLogic Portal, and discuss some of the challenges with respect to performance. We will introduce you to the Quest Performance Management suite for WebLogic Portal and how it helps IT teams deliver, manage and control the performance of WebLogic Portal applications. You will learn how to monitor and detect all aspects of WebLogic portal from the various portal services (such as entitlements and authentication) down to the individual portlets themselves. We will also demonstrate how you can drill deeper into the portlet to discover the offending Java object that may need optimization.
