Gabriel Bechara Gabriel Bechara
Gabriel Bechara has worked with BEA consulting services for the past two years. Gabriel assists clients using BEA products like WebLogic Server, Portal and Integration. Gabriel's interests include methodologies for defining software architecture, using products in development teams and giving the easiest path to promoting applications to production, with a focus on WebLogic Integration and methodologies related to SOA. Gabriel has been in the software industry for more than 15 years. Gabriel lives in the Paris Chinese quarter with his wife and two children.

Mariano Benitez is the Integration Architect for the AquaLogic BPM Suite. He is responsible for the technical architecture of the integration of the product with other BEA and 3rd party products. He has seven years of experience in BPM sofware and has worked in all technical aspects: from development, management and sales engineering to professional services and support.

Steve Bennett Steve Bennett

Stephen Bennett is BEA's Americas SOA Practice Lead and has been instrumental in developing BEA's SOA technology management consulting service offerings, especially in the SOA Organization & Governance realm and has provided technology management and enterprise architecture consulting to many of BEA's enterprise customers. Stephen brings more than 20 years of technology leadership, and IT strategy execution experience and currently is focusing on SOA thought leadership and execution.

Before becoming a consultant, Mr Bennett was involved in delivering enterprise-wide mission critical systems within the investment banking industry for over 12 years at companies such as Barclays Capital Bank and Credit Agricole Bank. Mr Bennett has considerable international experience working in the USA, Europe, Japan and South Korea.



John Brunswick John Brunswick
John Brunswick is a Practice Manager within BEA's Business Interaction Division consulting group and manages the ALUI and ALBPM practices in Canada and New England. He is passionate about technology and using it to solve business problems. He founded and leads a Boston-based technology discussion forum to continue to explore and stay on the cutting edge of the industry.

Guy Churchward
Guy Churchward is the General Manager of the Java Runtime Products Group for BEA systems and responsible for bringing the JRockit JVM and BEA's virtualization vision to market. Guy's a 20 year veteran of the industry with extensive international experience in engineering, sales, strategy and market development. Previous companies included Sun Microsystems (AKA Tarantella Inc.), Santa Cruz Operations, Olivetti and Arthur Anderson.

Jeff Davies Jeff Davies
Jeff Davies, Principal Architect, BEA AquaLogic, has 20 years of experience in the software field. Jeff has extensive experience developing retail applications, such as Act!(tm) For Windows and Macintosh and a number of other commercially available applications, principally in the telecom and medical fields. His background also includes the development, design and architecture of enterprise applications. Previous to joining BEA, Jeff was the Chief Architect at Covad Communications, responsible for their SOA and most recently the acquisition and deployment of Covad's Enterprise Service Bus. Now at BEA, Jeff is focused on the AquaLogic product line.

William Dettelback
Bill currently works on the AquaLogic Enterprise Security team. His focus is on customers implementing SOA Security, particularly Authorization and Entitlement solutions. Bill has been helping customers develop solutions in Financial Services, Telecommunications and Healthcare for BEA since 2002. Bill has a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science and Master's of Science in Computer Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Kevin Faulkner
Kevin Faulkner has been head of the BEA investor relations program since May 1998. Prior to that, Kevin was a corporate, securities, and mergers and acquisitions attorney for 12 years, including 10 years in Silicon Valley, representing a variety of high technology and biotech companies. Kevin worked on BEA's IPO and securities matters as an attorney, and has been working on BEA matters since November 1996.

Paco Gómez Paco Gómez
Paco Gómez is senior principal systems engineer at BEA Systems where he has been helping customers architecting solutions since 1999. He holds a Master's Degree in Industrial Automation and has over seventeen years of experience in the software industry. Mr. Gómez is co-author of a WebLogic book and is a regular contributor to the technical community, with articles, presentations and innovative tools like grinder and wlshell.

Ajay Gandhi

Ajay Gandhi is the Director for Enterprise Social Computing at BEA Systems where he heads the worldwide strategy, partnership and marketing initiatives for Web 2.0 social computing products within BEA's Business Interaction Division.

Previously at BEA, Mr. Gandhi was a Director of Product Management for the BEA AquaLogic Product Family and was responsible for platform strategy, product planning and strategic partnerships. Prior to BEA, Ajay held senior product management positions at several software companies developing products in CRM, analytics and collaborative development. He was also a Principal with Crimson Ventures focused on infrastructure software companies in the areas of distributed BPM, security policy compliance and vertically focused EAI. Earlier in his career, Ajay worked as a consultant in McKinsey's Worldwide Technology Practice and as an engineer at Microsoft, Intel and Corel.

Ajay received his M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and his B.A.Sc in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo.



David Groves
David Groves, Americas SOA Practice Lead, BEA Systems Worldwide Consulting Development, has 11 years of industry experience covering IT strategy, enterprise solutions consulting, program management and delivery methodology. David has provided consulting and service delivery management to many BEA enterprise customers in the finance, telco, and government sectors. As part of BEA Worldwide Consulting, David is focused on developing BEA's service offerings and capabilities, with a particular interest in SOA and IT strategy. Before joining IT, David worked as an analyst and strategist within the electricity industry.

Dain Hansen Dain Hansen
Dain is a Director, Product Marketing Manager for SOA Integration at BEA. He is currently working on projects in SOA, including: SOA Management, Governance and has long running experience with ESB technology.

Bill Laberis
Bill Laberis is Vice President of Custom Content Strategy at Computerworld, a business unit of International Data Group (IDG). Previously Bill was editor-in-chief of Computerworld for ten years from 1986-1996. During his editorial tenure, Computerworld won more than 80 awards for editorial and design excellence, including the Computer Press Association's award as Best Computer Newspaper an unprecedented three times. In the ten years between leaving Computerworld as editor and rejoining as Vice President of Custom Content Strategy, Bill was founder and president of Bill Laberis Associates, a custom publishing and media consulting company. Bill is a graduate of Columbia University and lives in Holliston, Mass., with his wife and two sons.

Peter Laird Peter Laird
Peter Laird is the Managing Architect for the WebLogic Portal engineering team at BEA. Peter currently focuses on combining enterprise portal technology with emerging ideas such as Mashups and Service Oriented Architecture.

Harold Lockhart
Harold Lockhart is a principal engineering technologist in the Standards and Architecture Group at BEA. An internationally known author and speaker, he has been an active contributor in the OASIS Web Services Security and SAML technical committees. He is also the co-chair of the OASIS XACML TC, and a member of the OASIS Provisioning TC, Digital Signature Services TC, and WS-I Basic Security Profile WG.

Richard Manning
Richard Scott Manning is Enterprise Architect Lead, BEA Consulting Services - Americas South Region. Focus areas include: Enterprise Architecture, SOA, BPM, Organization & Governance, Information & Knowledge Modeling, Web 2.0, Semantic Web and AI.

Jon Mountjoy worked as the editor-in-chief and community manager of Dev2Dev and Arch2Arch until April 2008. He enjoys working with XML, Java EE, Spring and Ruby. He is co-author of WebLogic: The Definitive Guide.

Yogish Pai Yogish Pai
Yogish Pai is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of IT, at BEA Systems, Inc. Yogish has over 18 years of experience in delivering business capabilities for large enterprises. At BEA, Yogish is responsible the enterprise architecture team and has been providing thought leadership through the various phases of adopting SOA within BEA-IT. Prior to BEA, Yogish was the CTO at CellExchange Inc., Director of Architecture at Oracle, Initiative Manager at The Coca-Cola Company and as a consultant for various companies. Yogish holds a Masters in Computer Applications from Bombay University and BS in Physics from Gujarat University.

Irene Rusman Irene Rusman

Irene Rusman is a Senior Software Engineer with BEA. She works on AquaLogic Service Bus system integration and publishes white papers outlining integration implementation. She has over 5 years experience in Enterprise Application Integration and over 7 years experience developing large-scale distributed transactional systems.

Irene leads the Silicon Valley BEA Dev2Dev user group. She researches the companies with synergetic technologies and engages with them to share engineering insights. She also invites technical speakers from BEA and other companies who express their interest in presenting to the Dev2Dev community.



Ruma Sanyal Ruma Sanyal
Ruma Sanyal is the Director of Product Marketing for BEA's Event Driven SOA strategy and products. Ruma has an extensive background in EDA, SOA, BPM, Integration, and Composite Applications. Ruma has worked in engineering, product management, consulting roles at Oracle, Bain, and HP and holds a Masters degree in Computer Science and has an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.

Roy Schulte
Roy Schulte is a vice president and Distinguished Analyst in Gartner Research. He is the research team leader for application integration and middleware. Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Schulte was a senior product manager in financial systems engineering with Digital Equipment. His previous positions include system programmer, database administrator, application programmer, software product manager and manager of competitive analysis.

Reza Shafii Reza Shafii
Reza Shafii works for BEA Systems professional services. Reza’s main interests are in the areas of Enterprise Architecture, Application Integration, and Software Engineering. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Computer Science, with an Honors Thesis in Object Oriented Design and Analysis Methodologies, from the University of British Columbia.

Robin Smith Robin Smith
Robin Smith is the Senior Engineering Product Manager at BEA Systems for the WebLogic Time and Event Driven (TED) Product Family. Before coming to BEA he was a Product Manager for many years at Sun Microsystems where he managed the award winning, Java Studio Enterprise and several core infrastructure products. He has worked as a software engineer and architect for two decades, designing and developing numerous scalable and robust commercial applications, such as a VM Operating System Performance monitor and system management products for the AS/400.

Anne-Christine Strugnell
Anne-Christine Strugnell, editor of Arch2Arch Advisor, is technology writer who has been in the biz long enough to have written an article in Object Magazine on developing using DLLs in C++, and (in 1996) a high-level piece for Oracle presciently titled, "The Internet Changes Everything." She currently writes newsletters, white papers, articles, and promotional materials for several Bay Area technology companies.

Alex Toussaint Alex Toussaint
Alex Toussaint is a Senior Product Manager at BEA Systems. Alex is part of the AquaLogic BPM team with responsibilities for product planning and strategy. During his five years at BEA he has held various positions in product management, including BPM, content management, portal federation, portal framework, and emerging portal standards.

Quinton Wall Quinton Wall

Quinton Wall is a Sr. Product Marketing Manager for Integration at BEA where he is responsible for articulating the strategic vision and direction of the products such as WebLogic Integration and AquaLogic Integration. Quinton, a certified Enterprise Architect and member of BEA's internal SOA Practice prides himself with looking at technology and the business of IT 'a bit different from the rest'. He firmly believes that tomorrow's problems can not be solved by today's thinking; rather a fresh perspective is often needed.

Originally from Australia, Quinton has been involved in the Java community since early 1996 where a number of colleagues formed Australia's first Java Users Group. Quinton now resides in Pacific Grove, California with his wife and 5 year old daughter (and about 50 Barbies, My Little Ponies etc..).



Bradley Wright
Brad Wright is Product Manager for the AquaLogic Data Services Platform. He's been a part of the real-time data integration and metadata spaces for over 7 years having previously worked at a startup in those spaces.
