WebLogic Test Client
Overview
Developed and tested directly by BEA engineers, the WebLogic Test Client allows
for convenient testing of WebLogic Web Services through a Web user interface without
writing code. You can quickly and easily test any WebLogic Web service including
those with complex types and those using advanced features of BEA WebLogic Server
(WebLogic Server) such as conversation support. It automatically keeps a full log
of requests allowing you to return to previous calls to view the results.
This version of the Test Client has additional capabilities over the original 9.0
and 9.2 Test Client. Specifically, it allows callback messages sent from the service
to be viewed in the Message Log, and allows services that have only JMS bindings
to be tested directly.
You must have WebLogic Server 9.2 installed to run this application. See below
for the older version of the Test Client that works with WebLogic Server 9.0 and
9.1.

Installing the Test Client
The WebLogic Test Client is packaged as an enterprise application that can be easily
deployed to your server. Note that while the installation instructions are the same
for all platforms, the paths in the steps below are for Windows. Simply replace
the relevant paths for Unix installations.
To install the application:
- Download the
wlstestclient.zip file containing the application.
- Extract the contents of the zip file to a temporary directory such as
c:\temp\wlstestclient.
- If the server on which the Web service resides is running, shut it down before
proceeding to the next step.
- Copy the
wlstestclient.ear file to the <bea-home>\weblogic92\server\lib
directory. Note that there is an existing wlstestclient.ear in this directory. The existing
file should be backed up before it is replaced.
- Restart the server. (For information on starting and stopping WebLogic Server,
please see the documentation available at http://e-docs.bea.com.)
Usage instructions are included in the downloaded zip file.
Previous Versions of the Test Client
The following zip contains the previous version of the Test Client
that works with WebLogic Server 9.0. and 9.1. The installation
instructions are the same.
